It looks nice and isn't to bulky to carry and use.
Except for shipping from China, which I didn't know about until I ordered it! (I extremely dislike that!!) I thought it was a purely US company.
I've never tried one of these straws before so it will interesting to see it in action.
The outside quality looks good. Hard plastic but light. Unfortunately I can’t inspect the inside to confirm the filtering component is what is says unless destroying it. It is all sealed. But compared to a smaller one I bought which I can check the filter inside, I think I would use both to double filter drinking water as a precaution.

Can I use this every day, or only in emergencies?
Either one. It's built to sit in a drawer for years and work the day you need it, but there's nothing stopping you from using it camping, on a hike, or as your everyday backup. 1,800 gallons, how long does that actually last?
At a gallon a day, the minimum recommended amount, that's nearly 5 years from a single straw. A family of four drinking a gallon each per day gets over a year from one straw, and most families keep more than one. Straws that cap out at 500 to 1,000 gallons give you a fraction of that.

How does 0.01 micron compare to other straws?
Most common straws filter down to 0.1 or 0.2 microns. PureFlow filters to 0.01 microns, 10 to 20 times finer. In a real emergency you're not drinking from a clean mountain stream, you're dealing with urban runoff, standing water, and ditches. Tighter filtration means fewer threats getting through.
How many should I buy for my family?

What water sources can I use it with?
